Types of Dermal Fillers 

Revanesse® Versa™ 

Revanesse Versa is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler that uses a gel formula filled with natural hyaluronic acid particles to inject volume into the treatment area. Your body tolerates this formula well but the results fade over time which is why repeated treatments are necessary for maintaining long-term results. This filler can smooth smile lines and facial folds on the middle and lower half of the face that form from volume loss, including hydroxyapatite folds, and the results last approximately six months.

Revanesse Versa is also known for its smoother consistency which allows for a more natural look and feel after treatment. The unique manufacturing process behind this filler creates uniform particles that allow the product to blend with your existing tissues and move naturally. It also helps reduce the amount of swelling after your treatment which allows you to enjoy your full results sooner. Revanesse Versa can be adjusted to treat different areas of the face and is indicated for nasolabial folds, marionette lines, mental creases, and oral commissures. 

Radiesse®

Radiesse is a biostimulator, a collagen-stimulating dermal filler that uses an active ingredient called calcium hydroxyapatite in a gel formula to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production abilities. Once injected into the treatment area, the body will respond to this active ingredient with collagen synthesis.

Collagen growth occurs in the weeks following treatment, and while you will see some immediate results, you will also see gradual results as your body grows new collagen over time. We can use this biostimulator to treat several areas of the face and the hands, and it can smooth lines and wrinkles around the mouth and creases and folds that result from volume loss. Post-treatment, your results will last up to 15 months.

Dermal fillers and neuromodulators can be combined to deliver the most comprehensive results. Neuromodulators are anti-aging injectables that smooth expression lines that form over time as a result of repetitive muscular movements and your body’s natural decrease in the production of anti-aging proteins and substances like collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.

Expression lines form on the upper half of the face, while volume loss typically affects the lower and middle half of the face. Neuromodulators treat expression lines, and dermal fillers treat volume loss. How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

Areas with more movement, like around the mouth, tend to metabolize fillers more quickly, while less mobile areas, such as the cheeks, often see longer-lasting results. Factors like your body’s metabolism and the specific dermal fillers chosen can also influence how long the effects last.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?

Dermal fillers are generally considered safe when administered by trained professionals who understand facial anatomy and the effects of fillers over time. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers, like those commonly used, mimic the natural substances found in your skin. Adverse reactions are rare but possible, which is why it is always important to choose a qualified provider to minimize any risks and promote the best possible outcomes.

What Is the Recovery Time After Dermal Filler Treatments?

Recovery after getting dermal fillers is usually quick and easy. You might notice some swelling, redness, or bruising for a couple of days, but most people go back to their daily activities right away. If you want to keep any swelling to a minimum, it’s a good idea to avoid heavy exercise and direct sunlight for about 24 to 48 hours after your skin treatment.

Can Dermal Fillers Be Reversed?

Hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be reversed if desired. If you’re not happy with the results or just want to make adjustments, we can use an enzyme called hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. It works quickly and gives you peace of mind knowing there’s always an option to tweak or undo the results. Radiesse, while temporary, is not reversible so this should be taken into consideration when choosing a treatment option.

Fillers are ideal for healthy individuals who want natural-looking results and have realistic expectations. While fillers are suitable for most people, we typically avoid using them on anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, just to be cautious.
